FALL 2026 LEVEL 5-6 DANCE AT WEEHAWKEN!

Schedule for Fall 2026!

Registration opens July 13 | Final deadline: September 5 (if space is available)

The Weehawken Dance program runs year-round, offering 29 weeks of classes divided into two semesters. Each semester concludes with a performance at the Montrose Pavilion, giving every dancer the opportunity to shine on stage. Level 5/6 classes are full-year commitments, running continuously through the school year, and tuition reflects the full 29-week season. These advanced levels are intended for dancers with prior experience—not brand-new beginners—and focus on refining technique, building discipline, and developing strong performance skills. Dancers in these levels typically perform multiple times per production—once in the winter and once in the spring—and may also audition for lead roles. Level 5/6 students rehearse on Sundays at our Montrose location, where dancers from across the region come together to collaborate. These rehearsals emphasize ensemble work, leadership, and a shared commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Weehawken Dance. We aim to create a meaningful performance experience that inspires confidence, connection, and personal growth—both on and off the stage.

Auditions for Lead Roles

Dancers in Level 5/6 are expected to participate in auditions and rehearsals for our performances. One of the ways we keep our upper-level dancers challenged and engaged is through the process of learning and performing show choreography that matches their level of ability and growth.

While Weehawken Dance is a recreational program, our performances provide meaningful opportunities for students to shine. Dancers are cast in roles that support their individual development, allowing them to build technique, artistry, and confidence through choreography tailored to their needs.

Auditions for this semester will be held on Sunday, August 30th.

Click here to learn more about auditions, the audition process, and what to expect at rehearsals. Be sure to complete the audition form before audition day.

What to Expect During Show Week

As dancers move into our upper levels, Show Week becomes much more involved—and much more exciting!

Please plan for a busy week! Upper level dancers should expect to be available throughout Show Week (December 7–13) for dress rehearsals and performances.

Unlike younger classes, upper level dancers typically perform in multiple casts, attend several dress rehearsals, and perform in multiple shows throughout the week. Dancers cast in lead or featured roles, those assisting with younger classes, or students performing in multiple dance styles may also have additional rehearsals and responsibilities.

Show Week is a busy but incredibly rewarding experience that gives our upper level dancers the opportunity to perform more often, take on greater challenges, and play a larger role in the production.

Final casting, rehearsal schedules, performance dates, and call times will be emailed in October.
