Pointe Shoes
Weehawken does not sell pointe shoes. Dancers must receive instructor approval before purchasing their first pair.
Pointe shoes require an individual professional fitting. Please do not order pointe shoes based only on street-shoe size.
Additional Ballet Attire
These items may be worn when appropriate and at the instructor’s discretion.
Warmups & Layers
Leg warmers, ballet skirts without tutus, fitted black or coordinating shorts and ballet sweaters may be worn with instructor approval. Required ballet shoes must still be worn.
Rehearsals
Dancers may wear a leotard and tights, fitted shorts, leggings, leg warmers, a ballet skirt or fitted dance pants. Street clothes are not appropriate for rehearsal.
Hair
Long hair should be secured in a ballet bun. Short hair should be clipped back or held away from the face with a headband.
Partnering
Wear a leotard and tights. Do not wear leg warmers or loose, baggy clothing during partnering work.
Summer Ballet
During summer classes, dancers may wear any color leotard and tights. Level-specific uniforms return with the fall session.
