🎭 Sunday Dress Rehearsal & Performance Information 5/10/26 – for Weehawken's Cinderella

📅Show 6: Sunday, May 10 at 1 pm

With a split Dress Rehearsal prior to the performance on the same day

Location: Montrose Pavilion

*Performances are split cast. Please review your dancer’s dress rehearsal and performance details in the personalized email from Lexi (lexi@weehawkenarts.org). If you can’t find it, please check your spam/junk folder.

*Parent Visitation Week (April 20-April 24) is a great time to connect with teachers and clarify any logistics. Most costumes will be sent home with dancers during that week.

NOTE REGARDING SUNDAY SPECIFICALLY

  • This is the final show. Clean-up will take place directly afterward. We welcome help—even if it’s just for 45 minutes!

DRESS REHEARSAL

  • Dress rehearsal is mandatory for all students scheduled to attend. Sunday morning dress rehearsal is specifically for students performing in the Sunday matinee who did not attend Tuesday dress rehearsal (primarily Pre/Primary/Level 1/2 and certain aerial classes, plus class assistants for those groups).
  • Dress rehearsal takes place just before the performance on the same day.
  • ARRIVE ready! Costume on, robe covering and protecting costume, and show hair is required. Hair should be show-ready so headpieces can be pinned in and practiced during rehearsal.
  • Makeup is not required for dress rehearsal but is required for the performance.
  • Reminder: No nail polish or jewelry except stud earrings.
    • Aerial Dancers (Silks & Lyra): Arrive by 10:00 am (10:05 am start)
    • Act 1 Ground Dancers: Arrive by 10:50 am (11:00 am start)
    • Act 2 Ground Dancers: Arrive by 11:45 am (11:50 am start)
  • Pre, Primary, and Intro to Aerial students should arrive by their call time with ONE parent/guardian, who will stay in the rear of the theater for dress rehearsal.
  • We estimate completing this dress rehearsal by 12:25pm
  • Families are welcome to take posed photos in the lobby.
  • Some items (accessories and props) will remain backstage. These items are listed on the “Costume Includes” in your costume information.

QUICK REMINDERS (ALL PERFORMANCES):

  • Hair & stage makeup complete; arrive in costume with a robe covering it.
  • Reminder: No nail polish or jewelry, except stud earrings.
  • Posed photos are welcome in the lobby. No posed photos on stage before the show.
  • Drop-off and pick-up only before the show, during intermission, or after the performance.
  • If a student sits in the audience during the act they are not performing, a ticketed seat is required and they should remain in a robe.

PERFORMANCE – MATINEE PERFORMANCE

1:00 PM SHOW TIME (DOORS WILL OPEN NO SOONER THAN 12:30 PM)

  • Ensure hair and stage makeup are complete by showtime. Robes should cover costumes whenever your student is seated in the audience, having makeup applied, eating, or drinking.
  • If you plan to have your child sit in the audience with you during the act in which they are not performing, a ticketed seat must be purchased for them. Lap-sitting obstructs the view for those behind you.
  • BRING a change of clothes for your dancer to change into after the show since this is the last performance.

FLOW OF THE DRESS REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE DAY:

  • Arrive for dress rehearsal by your call time and proceed to the conference room area (to the right).
    • One parent will escort the student to the conference room, drop them at their class sign with the Dressing Room Crew, help place their belongings, and then proceed to the theater. Dancers will remain in the conference room. After they rehearse their number, you may return to the conference room to grab them to watch from the rear of the theater or go offsite for a break. The theater will be cleared at 12:25 pm.
  • We will run the show in order, allowing time for spacing, entrances, exits, and set/prop arrangements.
  • Act 1: Expect to finish dress rehearsal with time to eat and touch up makeup before the show (robe over costume). During the show, please be mindful of other audience members’ experience. Please only exit the theater to pick up your child either at the show’s intermission or after the show.
  • Act 2: Please plan to stay at the theater between dress rehearsal and the show. Pack any necessities for this time. During the performance, dancers should be backstage at the start of the show and at the start of intermission. We line up Act 2 dancers in order during intermission, so timeliness is important. Pick up for your dancer will be directly after the show.
  • There will be no final bows at the end for Pre dancers. These dancers will bow at the end of their dances.
  • Students get to watch the Live Stream in the conference/dressing room, along with friends, games & fun.
  • Costume check-in begins at intermission.
  • All costumes must be checked in before leaving the theater.

SHOW ORDER & TECH NOTES

Curious about the show order? Click the green button below!

Note: These notes are mostly for our teachers and production team — but we know some of you love a good plan, so you’re welcome to take a peek!

HOW TO READ THE SHOW ORDER NOTES

  • Track #: The order of each dance within the act (music track number).
  • Time 1: The length of the music track used in the show
(Example: 2:01 = total song length)
  • Time 2: How far into the act the dance appears
(Example: 20 = approximately 20 minutes into the act)
This represents the approximate timestamp if the act were to run straight through without pauses.
During dress rehearsals, we often stop to adjust spacing, lighting, and transitions — these times simply help us stay organized backstage.
  • Title: The name of the dance or scene.
  • Music Link: The song used for the piece. You can download the music here to practice at home.
  • Cast & Dancers: The character or class, followed by the names of the performers.
  • Prep: What is needed for the dance in the hallway prep area. Miss Lexi organizes this — these are notes for our team.
  • Costume Changes & Quick Changes: This information will be added in the coming weeks. Miss Lexi organizes this.
