🎟️ Polar Express 2025: Information for Leads & Upper-Level Dancers

Show Week: December 8–14, 2025
Location: Montrose Pavilion

🔔 General Overview
  • Leads are split into Cast A, B, or C and will typically perform in two shows within their assigned cast.
  • Upper-Level (Level 5/6) dancers will appear in multiple shows across different casts. Exact performance assignments are still being finalized.
  • There will be a total of three full dress rehearsals—one for each cast (A, B, and C)—and six performances (two performances per cast) during show week.
  • In addition, there will be two extra dress rehearsals for younger classes performing only in that day’s matinee:
    • Saturday morning for dancers in the Saturday 1:00 PM (Show 4) performance
    • Sunday morning for dancers in the Sunday 1:00 PM (Show 6) performance
    • Leads and class assistants involved with those younger groups may be asked to attend those rehearsals as well. Please check in with the teacher you are assiting for details on what time you are needed.

🎯 Dress Rehearsal Expectations

We know show week is long, and we don’t expect perfection at dress rehearsals. However:

  • Hair: Should be styled accordingly to your part and work with headpieces. Perfect curls are not required for dress rehearsal.
  • Makeup: Not required for dress rehearsal, but a little makeup—like lipstick and powder—may be a good idea since photos will be taken.
  • Attire: Please arrive clean, groomed, and ready to dance. Bring all required show shoes, accessories, and costumes. Old tights are fine, as long as they are the correct style and color for your show tights. Please be fresh and presentable—many of you will be partnering or working closely with others.

📬 More Info Coming Soon
  • Personalized show schedules will be emailed closer to show week.
Lexi (Lexi@weehawkenarts.org) will send these out and be available for questions.
  • Parent Visitation Week (Nov. 17–20) is a great time to connect with teachers and clarify any logistics. Most costumes will be sent home with dancers during that week.
