Aerial Silks Classes for Kids & Teens
Progressive aerial training in Ridgway for students from throughout Ouray County.
Children and teens build strength, coordination, confidence and creativity through aerial silks, lyra and aerial movement. Classes are available for new and returning students ages 5 and older.
Strength, artistry and adventure
Aerial gives students a different way to experience movement. They learn to climb, create shapes, move through the air and connect skills while becoming stronger and more confident.
Start With the Foundations
New students begin with introductory shapes, wraps, climbs, foot locks, aerial vocabulary and strength-building exercises.
Progress Step by Step
Skills are introduced through progressions so students can build the technique, strength and understanding required for more complex movement.
Create in the Air
As students advance, they explore sequences, transitions, musicality, character and aerial choreography.
What students develop
Aerial progress is built through consistent practice. Students develop physical ability alongside patience, focus, creativity and confidence.
Aerial training that grows with the student
Class placement considers age, experience, strength, readiness and demonstrated skills. It is normal for students to spend time building consistency within each level.
Intro & Beginning Aerial
Younger and beginning students become comfortable with the apparatus while learning introductory positions, wraps, climbs and conditioning.
Developing Aerialists
Students improve strength, inversions and technique while learning new transitions and connecting familiar skills.
Experienced Aerialists
More experienced students develop longer sequences, endurance, dynamic movement, performance quality and personal artistry.

Depending on the class, production and each student’s preparation, aerialists may participate in staged performances, demonstrations or community events.
Performance is exciting, but training comes first. Skills used in choreography are chosen according to the student’s class level and readiness.
