Classes Begin August 24—Even While Our New Studio Is Being Finished

Our permanent Montrose studio is currently expected to open approximately three weeks later than planned. During this short transition, Montrose classes will begin at First Presbyterian Church or the Montrose Field House. Ridgway classes will begin at the Old School House.

Because upper-level classes use several rooms, the weekly schedule below gives the correct starting location for every class. Lexi will be at FPC to welcome families and answer questions. Registered families will be notified before any class moves into the new studio.

Instructor approval is required. Need help confirming placement or registering? Email Miss Natasha at natashajeanne@weehawkenarts.org.

Understanding the Levels

Grade and age provide a general guide. Placement also considers previous training, technical readiness, maturity, consistency, and instructor recommendation.

Level 3

Fifth Grade and Up

Previous dance training is required. Students begin an expanded technical and production experience.

Level 4

Seventh Grade and Up

Previous training and instructor approval are required. Expectations increase in complexity, artistry, and consistency.

Level 5

Advanced training and instructor approval are required. Students work with high expectations for technique and performance quality.

Full-Year Training and Pointe

Level 3/4 and Level 4/5 classes are full-year commitments. Registration covers the complete 29-week school-year program and participation in both winter and spring productions.

Ballet students may begin pointe work around Level 3 and age 11, depending on technical readiness, physical development, attendance, and teacher evaluation.
