As an integral part of our ballet curriculum, Pointe classes at Weehawken Dance are rooted in the rich tradition of classical ballet while embracing innovative techniques from the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing training. Led by our ABT® Certified Teacher, Natasha Pyeatte, and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing instructor Miss Pang, our Pointe program ensures the highest quality training for students of all ages and skill levels.
Pre-pointe work begins at age 10, with pointe work starting at age 11 with instructor approval. This non-performing class focuses on technique, requiring students to complete 1 semester of pre-pointe before advancing to pointe shoes. Once students get their pointe shoes, they must attend 2 ballet classes per week in addition to pointe class and summer sessions.
